Copywriting Checklist

Copywriting Checklist

Many small businesses in the UK don't have the budget for copywriting, but if you've already written the content for your website and want to improve it, take a look at our copywriting checklist;

1. Will the first few lines of text on your home page grab people’s attention?
2. Does your website text mention the benefits of buying your product or service? i.e. what’s in it for your customers?
3. Are your benefits clear and unique and do you put across what makes your business different?
4. Does your text make you want to read on? Is it lively and interesting?
5. Have you separated your text with interesting and relevant sub headings?
6. Does the layout of your text make it easy to read?
7. Is your text persuasive? Would you order or get in touch if it wasn’t your company?
8. Do you regularly update your website content?
9. Is your website text written in a friendly and conversational tone?
10. Do you have a call to action that asks people to do what you want them to? e.g. “Call us now to book your next stay in Edinburgh”

If you can answer no to one or more of these questions then it's time you changed the words on your website.
